The annual State Social Studies Conference of the Tennessee Council for the Social Studies (TCSS) will be held on Friday, March 5, 2027 at the Chattanooga Marriott Downtown.  Thursday evening (March 4th) will feature our President’s Reception with light food, cash bar, and an opportunity to visit our vendors.

 

Presenter advanced registration will be $75 vs. the $125 fee for non-presenters.  Your registration includes a 2027/28 membership and lunch.

 

We will feature 36 breakout sessions, each 45-minutes in length. 

 

Proposal Categories
We welcome a broad array of session topics, including but not limited to:

• Innovative teaching methodologies and instructional strategies

• Technology integration in social studies education

• Civic engagement and promoting democratic principles

• Student-centered learning and project-based instruction

• Interdisciplinary approaches connecting history, geography, civics, and economics

 

There will be at least one strand dedicated to geography sponsored by the Tennessee Geographic Alliance.
